Rihanna nominated for four six Grammy Awards

Talk about a Christmas present. On the heels of an American Music Awards win, Rihanna has scored another major achievement, not one but four Grammy nominations.

The Bajan singer was nominated in the categories Record of the Year for her hit Umbrella, Song of the Year, also for Umbrella, Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals (Hate That I Love You featuring Ne-Yo) and Best R&B Song (Hate That I Love You featuring Ne-Yo).

The category Record of the Year will pit her against heavyweights Beyonce (Irreplaceable), Amy Winehouse (Rehab), Justin Timberlake (What Goes Around...Comes Around) and the Foo Fighters (The Pretender).

The 50th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held on February 10, 2008, at Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live on CBS from 8 – 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT).

I think Rihanna has this locked down. She's already beaten Beyonce and Umbrella was such a monster hit it that it should run right over the other contenders. I have a good vibe about this....

AMENDMENT
I'm a tad confused because now I see that Rihanna's label Def Jam is reporting that she received six nominations. Anyhoo, she was nominated and that's all that matters. On to the winning stage now!
